We are pleased to announce that the Automotive Training Centre at our Chester Head Office is now an IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry) Awards Centre.Long recognised within the aftermarket as the masters of knowledge on emissions, this is a giant leap forward for CES within the training arena. No other parts distributor is accredited within the UK.
Basically, this means that CES have achieved the standards set to train and assess our branch teams and customers’ staff to levels of competence, set at industry leading standards.
CES now operates its own ATA (Automotive Technician Accreditation) assessments for staff and customers. We were amongst the first distributors to be accredited under the pilot for ATA Parts Advisor. Now, several of our staff have just been accredited with Senior Parts Advisor status. This ability to assess means that CES will be able to offer this service out to colleagues, customers, colleges and other training providers.
For our customers, CES are offering the ATA assessments in Service Maintenance Technician and Refrigerant Handling. Our air con assessments are very heavily subscribed as they are fully approved by DEFRA for 2010 and beyond.
CES question the point of signing up for a training course if you already have some of the skills. The ATA assesses real time skills and makes recommendations on specific training areas where you need to brush up. This means you can get back to your business because you spend less time and less money on training you don’t need by concentrating on what you do need.
“The strong uptake of these assessments and the positive feedback from our customers is fantastic. Together we are raising the bar and putting some meaningful qualifications out there that the public can relate to and have faith in. The IMI endorsement and the ATA accreditation is good for business,” said Steve McCann, Trading Director.
